I wanted the kingfisher to be the unmistakable focus of this piece, using vivid blues and warm rusty oranges against a loose, understated background.
Soft washes, splashes of color and plenty of untouched white paper give the painting a light, spontaneous feel, while allowing the detail and personality of the bird to shine through.
The original painting remains in my personal collection and is not available for purchase, but it has been professionally reproduced as a fine art print so the piece can still find a place in other homes.
